The Coming Environmental Catastrophe: What Can We...
It has become safe to assume that the majority of the world has finally come to realize that there really is a huge problem with the ecosystem, and that this problem has been affected by the decades of ignorance and abuse that human waste and frivolity have caused. Many attempts at turning away the crisis by implementing alternatives and cleaner energy laws have been met with fierce and powerful...

Spring Has Sprung! Can Green Energy help in the...
Springtime Gardening Ideas Spring has “sprung” which means it is the ideal time to get outside and plant that garden you dreamt of all winter. Before busting out the shovels and trowels, however, you might want to take a last bit of time to draft some new garden plans. If you spent most of the late winter ordering seeds, bulbs and plants that will be arriving shortly you might have forgotten...

Lux- The Mystery Resolved
The LUX of Lighting What is LUX? Generally it is a measurement of the intensity of the light produced by any lighting fixture. The higher the measurement of LUX the more light available over a specific area. This is usually discussed in terms of “Lumens” per square meter. Okay, you might then say, what the heck is Lumens? This is something that is also discussed in different terms, but most...

Solar Security Lights for the Winter
As the winter starts to bear down on us and snow storms are starting, it’s important to think…”what will we do if the lights go out?” Keeping that in mind, I wanted to point out that solar security lights can be an important part of your emergency tool kit. We have a bright solar security light that can be found here, and we’ve heard from many of our customers how...

New Product Alert
And this time, it’s actually not solar.  Check out our new motion activated and battery operated wall sconce. It looks very nice like our solar post lights, but this one is powered by 4 C cell batteries.  With 5 super bright LED’s, it should be nice. Let me know what you think.

New Solar Flood Light
One of the keys to our success has been listening to our customer feedback and reacting quickly enough to provide just what folks are looking for. Exciting news from us here at YCA Solar Light Store, as we’ve done it again. Customers wanted a bright solar flood light, similar in output to our solar security lights, but that turns on and off (ie: not motion activated).  We found the right...

Rainy Days
They happen. And when they do, sometimes your solar lights won’t work.  Most of our (and everyone else’s) solar lights have AA rechargeable batteries that fully deplete themselves each night.  This is why, in the morning, it’s pretty dim if on at all.  So, if the next day is cloudy and the batteries can’t recharge, you run the risk that your lights won’t work that...

Just an FYI...and a Question
Our best selling solar spot light comes with 20 feet of wire connecting the light fixture and the solar panel. I just wanted to let people know that it can come with more, like 40 feet of wire or 60 feet of wire.  We’ve even had it cut down to 10 if you don’t need that much. I’d like your opinion. Should we add this to the product page?  Is it going to get too confusing to try...

Troubleshooting Solar Lights
Just a quick tip. If your solar light is giving you trouble, one of the first places to look is the battery.  If your solar light takes AA rechargeable batteries, you can replace them with regular AA batteries.  If that fixes your problem, you know that the rechargeable batteries were the problem and need to be replaced. To clarify, using regular AA batteries is not the solution, but can help...

Internet Explorer
Why must it take IE so long to open up a tab? All I did was hit Ctrl + T.  You do that in chrome/safari/firefox…you get a new tab.  You do it in IE, you have to wait like 10 seconds?  What the hell is it loading??!??! Sorry, just wanted to vent.  But if anyone does have an explanation, I’d love to hear it.

Customer Service?
My name is Assaf, and I run the customer service at YCA Solar Light Store. I just had a thought.  Should I write a small blog post each time I come across a different situation?  I speak to customers all the time, I’m confident prospective customers can learn from our experiences together. What do you guys think?
